How Wunder started.
Lauris grew up in Riga. He was a shy kid who read books and played with cardboard boxes.
At 16 he decided to be confident. From that day he went to every business contest he could find.
He went to business school in France, Italy and Germany. Then he was meant to start a job in a bank. He walked out of that path and picked up a camera instead.
For years he worked as a photographer in Berlin. Some months he had four euros in his bank account. He kept going.
In Berlin he met Manuel, on the seventh floor of Soho House. Lauris knew content and how Instagram grows a page. Manuel had built companies for years. One day Manuel said: “Let’s do a business. You have two days to think.” Lauris said yes. Together they opened an office in Riga. That business is Wunder.
Today Lauris runs the team from our office in Riga. Our chat team works from around the world, day and night.
